HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED YEAR ROUND?

The first step in becoming more involved in your community is signing up for our City-Wide Volunteer Day! Once you've done that, you might be interested in becoming more involved year round! Here are a few things you can do.

NEIGHBORHOODS

Love Our Neighborhoods is about inspiring and encouraging people to intentionally develop relationships with their immediate neighbors. Our hope is that the people become a part of this campaign will move from strangers to acquaintances, and from acquaintances to relationships with the people who live near them.

SCHOOLS

Schools in Placentia are facing a very high student to teacher ratio and many students need positive relationships, role models and academic assistance. Our schools are requesting help to meet this incredible challenge.

BLESSING BOXES

The Blessing Boxes are honor system food pantries where people can take food who are in need. Also, this is an easy way for those who want to help others to donate non-perishable food. (Please note: ONLY donate non-perishable food. For hygiene and safety, please do not leave perishable food, clothes, toys, etc.)

CITY WIDE SERVE DAY

What would happen if the entire community came together to help one another—City government, businesses, residents, the faith community, service groups, schools and sports organizations? Placentia is part of the growing list of cities who are part of OC United’s “Unite for Cities” Initiative. Find out how you can make a real difference in your community.

FOSTER CARE / ADOPTION

There is such a huge need for healthy stable individuals, couples or families to foster care and/or adopt in our area. Our partner organization, OC United is doing incredible work in the foster care system and we would encourage you to join them!

HOMELESSNESS

Orange County has a large homeless population and we would love for you to get involved with one of these great organizations to make a difference in our community with homelessness!

HOSPITAL VOLUNTEERS

Members of the Hospital Guild perform a variety of duties in the hospital offices, Gift Shop, Wound Care Center, and patient care areas. Our guild has bee around for over 50 Years. Our volunteers have a choice in the types of duties they perform and when they want to serve their 4-hour shift. Shifts are available during the weekdays and on weekends. Our Gift Shop annually provides scholarships for deserving students studying in medical related fields.
